Xenz
Exhibition
April 10 – May 10 2006
Cargo - Rivington Street
Freestyle
artist, Xenz, whose work recently
featured in the new music video
for ‘Just’ by Mark
Ronson, launched his latest anthology
at East End’s Cargo on April
10. A founding member of the 'Total
Creative Freedom' crew, Xenz’s
impressive portfolio of solo and
collaborative mural works has
earned him international admiration
and notoriety.
Over 250 guests at the launch
caught first sight of his conceptual
artwork that combines illusion
and fantasy with strong architectural
and soft natural scapes to distort
and disguise letters of his tag.
The launch coincided with Stomping
Ground (hosted by Demo City and
Timberland Boot Company), which
showcased up-and-coming live acts
in East London.
Xenz,
an artist with over 17 years
experience in graffiti culture,
is renowned for his abstract
expressionist and surrealist
canvases. Painting from memory
(known as freestyling), Xenz’s
work expands the horizons of
graffiti art with his distinctive,
illusionary painting style of
floating scapes and trademark
sky scenes. Xenz’s infamous
work can be seen on walls across
Europe from London and Scotland
to Bristol, Finland, Switzerland
and Germany.
Xenz will be exhibiting his
latest collection in the main
bar at Cargo until 10 May 2006
with artwork available to buy. |
