On October 8, PIMP Magazine & the Suicide Girls hosted the exclusive UK screening of the new Suicide Girls film 'The Italian Villa'. The crowds gathered to witness 25 alternative pin-up girls on location in Tuscany projected across the walls of east London music venue 93 Feet East. A sea of people came to the screening and huddled together in the smoke-filled darkness of our makeshift cinema that many commented captured the atmosphere of a 1970s Soho porn cinema. The only detail lacking was perhaps the toilet rolls threaded on a coat hangers attached to the side of the cinema seats.

The movie was extremely well received but the event reached its climax with the live on stage performance of Renegade Burlesque. The Renegades, many of whom are Suicide Girls, put on a faultless performance showing everyone how to slowly remove clothing to ‘hyper speed’ metal music. Then instead of ripping off dancehall girls by vigorously shaking their butts, the girls decided to find the natural resonant frequency of their breasts, which reminded me of my 9th birthday with that jelly on the plate thing only this time someone had placed it on top of a washing machine on spin-dry. PIMP photographers Nik Hartley and Sofiane Boukhari were snapping on the night, and rumours that a video of the night will soon be coming to the PIMP website could prove to be true.
