D*Face’s
first major London solo how, ‘Death &
Glory’ is a controversial collection of
pop culture-inspired works which reflect the re-thinking
and reworking of cultural figures and genres based
around society’s conspicuous consumption.
The reactionary artist’s sense of humour
and anti-establishment ethos – which has
previously led him to ‘collaborate’
with H.R.H Queen Elizabeth II on a series of bank
notes which he put into circulation for an unwitting
public to find them in their change – will
once again be brought to the fore with his new
exhibition. Death & Glory opens at StolenSpace
on October 12.
