Influential Argentinean art collective/design bureau Doma has come a long way since its humble beginnings on the Buenos Airies Street Art scene 8 years ago. The group began using urban installations; stencil graffiti and street projections employing an irreverent comic book style to create subversive imagery that offers an alternative commentary on mainstream culture, specifically exploring issues of global consumerism and politics.

The characters and the alternate universes they created soon took on more tangible forms as the group's respective skills in animation, motion graphics and film allowed them to project there creations deeper into the popular consciousness via animated shorts, art installations and a range of toys that has gained them a global following.

One of Europe's most interesting art spaces, Barcelona's Maxalot gallery this month plays host to the Doma collective, serving as a canvas for their graphic universe. The exhibition will feature a character-parade of life-sized and miniature plush dolls, new and exclusive 2D prints and graffiti, and projected motion graphics.

For European fans, this exhibition is a must. Providing a retrospective of work to date, they will also be showcasing never before seen pieces which should prove a draw for even the most well versed Doma afficionado.
